Posted by William J. Meyer in Jack's Post-Production, Jack's Videos.

Being process-oriented, I enjoy posting these little work-in-progress videos. I hope you don’t mind they aren’t full-on tutorials, but rather glimpses of what’s going on under the hood. This one deals with a shot involving Jack’s disease. The clip begins with the pre-production design by me, briefly shows a couple prosthetics made by Matt Knudsen, and then hints at the digital process which combines the prosthetics both from footage and stills, compositing and manipulating the lot in After Effects.

The catchy post title indicates this is a work-in-progress (so who knows how it may change) of a visual effects shot from scene nine, aka “Bathroom,” and it’s the first shot of Jack’s hand.

As far as spoilers go, don’t worry–you don’t know what his other hand looks like! :P
