House of the Rising Sun August 18, 2007

Posted by William J. Meyer in Jack's Production.
trackback

The first day of shooting was quite exhilarating. I felt like I put in an honest day’s work. We began with a pep talk from Errol Morris: his 2002 Oscar short that explored moviegoers’ relationship with film. Once shooting commenced, Jeff did some great sculpting with light, and Cerissa and Chris both brought Liz and Jack into the real world. Georgia provided a slew of tasty treats, including life-sustaining zucchini bread! We ran a bit longer than planned, pushed some shots back to the next day, but a very successful launch of production, no diggity. One of the challenges was the constant drizzle. Too soon for rain in the script! We were shooting a couple early morning scenes in Liz’s kitchen, and although the dreary weathered prevailed outside, the illusion of an early morning was maintained indoors. I’ll post-pone uploading actual frames, but for your enjoyment, here’s a Generic (and Staged) DP Adjusting the Camera Photo.
